The first quarter of 2023 saw notable trends in the performance of the top food and drink apps on the Android platform in Kenya. Here’s a look at how these applications fared in terms of weekly downloads and active users.

Jumia Food: Food Delivery from JUMIA experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads. Starting with 2.9K downloads in late December, the app saw a significant spike to 9.9K by the end of January. The active user base also grew from 52.3K at the start of the year to a peak of 76.7K by the end of January, before stabilizing around 57.2K by the end of March.

Bolt Food: Delivery & Takeaway showed consistent weekly downloads, beginning at 3.1K and peaking at 3.9K in mid-March. The app maintained a steady active user base, ranging from 51K to 54K throughout the quarter.

Uber Eats: Food Delivery saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, starting at 3.2K in late December and dropping to around 1K by the end of March. Despite this, the active user count remained relatively stable, ranging from 39.3K to 53K during the quarter.

Pizza Inn Kenya experienced a gradual increase in weekly downloads. Starting at 2.9K in late December, the downloads saw a steady rise, reaching 2.5K by the end of March.

Dial a Delivery had lower download figures compared to other apps, starting at 1.2K in late December and maintaining around 400-600 weekly downloads throughout the quarter.
